“My husband and I rescued a Bull Mastiff Boxer Cross "Zeus", around 8 months ago, no matter what foods we have tried him on he has always had a very sensitive stomach, we thought it might be nerves although none of his behaviour backed this up, and as no change of diet seemed to consistently help I just put it down to a very sensitive stomach and cut out any treats. The other strange thing that he was doing was his constant grooming, I presumed was just a very hygienic dog - he used to lick himself like a cat - it wasn't causing a problem so I didn't think too much about it until...

My husband and I were working up north in Lancaster and after the long journey from London in the car and new surroundings Zeus had a very upset tummy, this continued on and off for the first couple of weeks and finally I put him on egg and rice as I was sure there was no way it was just nerves and him settling into a new environment. Being away from home and our local vet I went to talk to the couple in the local pet shop, who on the previous occasion when we were in there browsing could not have been more helpful. When I explained about Zeus' digestion and that it was never fully right the lady in the shop listed a group of other symptoms all of which Zeus had - constant grooming, chewing paws, sticky eyes etc., etc.

They suggested that it was his food (******), which contains colours, glutens and many more). At the time I had had him on rice and egg for around 24 hours as his tummy was bad and they unanimously suggested that we try Europa. So we cut out the other food immediately and put him on very small meals to introduce it gently in case it did not agree with him, they said we would start to see a difference in about a week or so... oh no, we saw the difference 24 hours later - he was a different dog, lively bright, perfect digestion and has been so consistently happy on this food I am considering becoming a distributor as we live in an area not covered. I am so relieved that we have got to the bottom of this problem and Zeus is clearly thrilled too, he is so much bouncier, his coat looks fantastic and his digestion is wonderful.

Living in London we have the added hazard of old bits of fast food on the ground and Zeus is a terrible scrounger, we are really careful when walking him up the main high road in our town but occasionally 8 stone of dog heading suddenly for that old bit of food means that he gets it before I can stop him, with Europa anything bad is out of his system very quickly because of the pre-biotic ingredient - Brilliant!
